Software Development Company
B2B SaaS Provider · 400 Employees
Consolidated Jira Service Management and Datadog into a unified open-source stack.
The Challenge
This fast-growing B2B SaaS company had outgrown its two-pillar approach. Jira Service Management handled IT support and project tracking, while Datadog provided infrastructure and application monitoring. The two systems operated in silos — when Datadog detected an outage, a developer had to manually create a Jira ticket, losing critical time. Security monitoring was a blind spot, handled sporadically with open-source tools that nobody owned.
Licensing costs for both platforms were rising disproportionately as the company grew, and the DevOps team was spending more time managing tooling than delivering value. They needed a unified platform that connected monitoring, IT service management and security — without the enterprise price tag.
The Solution — Three Pillars, One Roof
Echo-9 replaced two proprietary tools with three integrated open-source platforms, giving the company broader coverage at lower cost — all under one managed roof.
GLPI
Replaced Jira for IT service management. Incident management, asset inventory for servers and laptops, software licence tracking and a self-service portal for the 400-strong team. Integrated with the company's existing SSO via LDAP.
Zabbix
Replaced Datadog for infrastructure and application monitoring. Custom probes for the SaaS application stack, API endpoint health checks, database performance tracking and automated alerting. Alerts now auto-create GLPI tickets via webhook integration.
Wazuh
New capability the company never had before. File integrity monitoring on critical servers, vulnerability scanning across the containerised environment, and log analysis providing early warning of security events. Security incidents flow automatically into GLPI for triage.
"We went from two umbrellas that left our heads wet to one solid roof covering everything. Our developers no longer waste time toggling between tools or manually creating tickets from alerts — the stack does it for us."

The Future — Affordable Full-Stack Support
The 45% saving on licensing costs allowed the company to sign a full-stack support agreement with Echo-9 from the outset. This covers proactive monitoring of their Zabbix infrastructure, GLPI patching and plugin updates, Wazuh rule tuning and quarterly security health reviews — all for less than they previously paid for Jira and Datadog alone.
